“Rega” (Irrigation), 2012
Irrigation pivot made from a metallic pipe 1200 cm x 200 cm x 250 cm, circle with a diameter of 25000 cm
The artist works on themes and forms rooted in the memory of modern industrial society. This piece directly refers to an object related to practices in modern automated agriculture. The piece replicates the shape and type of rotation that we see in large irrigation systems across our fields, but it has a different function. It is painted in several colours, and thus fulfils a playful role rather than a practical one. It also acts as a support for a set of swings, thus incorporating today’s people-oriented garden landscaping, and opening up and interacting with children in the public.
