Lives and works in Cascais
Metallic iron painted matte black 250 x 150 x 310 cm
The artist works on themes and forms that transpose our reality to ancestral times and to a different nearby universe. We are forced to question what we are and how we relate to everything that surrounds us.
The artist always uses iron painted in black, thus creating an organic model reflecting our immediate memory, yet all the more disturbing in its overly large proportions. This armour serves as a memory, what’s left of an entire life that has been lost, or could it be that it hides a threatening animal? It is folded upon itself and is almost hidden amongst trees and beds of reeds in a garden. Are we ourselves in danger, or are we the threatening ones?
