Alberto Carneiro was born in Coronado, in1937.
Between ten and twenty-one years old, he learned the craft of image-maker in the workshops of religious art of his homeland.
In his themes and in the materials he uses, the artist establishes an intense relationship between nature and culture, thought and action. A comprehension of this vast and complex interdependence and interpenetration determines its intervention in the natural landscape, the reinterpretation of the rituals of rural work, of its shapes and materials, and a general understanding of all things made as part of a universal energy.
